Ka’Nisha Young (she/her)

Professional Counseling Intern

I am a graduate-level counseling student with a background in education and a strong commitment to supporting emotional growth, healing, and self-awareness. Prior to counseling, I spent ten years as a teacher, where I developed a passion for working with children, families, and individuals navigating both academic and personal challenges.

My counseling style is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen and supported as they explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I focus on helping clients build emotional regulation skills, increase self-awareness, and develop practical coping strategies for lasting change.

I have a particular interest in expressive arts and play therapy techniques with adolescents and adults. I incorporate creativity, such as art, storytelling, and interactive activities, to help clients process emotions and gain insight in ways that feel natural and engaging.

I approach counseling from a holistic perspective that honors each client’s cultural, spiritual, and personal identity.

I am dedicated to building meaningful therapeutic relationships and supporting clients as they move toward greater clarity, balance, and emotional well-being.
